Join Bea and Liz for a luxury eight days/seven nights at TIGMI a retreat hotel that will redefine your idea of relaxation. Tucked away from the hubbub of Marrakech on the outskirts of a traditional Moroccan Berber village, with the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and distant lights of Marrakech as your backdrop. You will enjoy daily Yoga and Pilates classes with plenty of time to relax and unwind with opportunities to visit the Atlas Mountains or the souks in Marrakech. 

Bea and Liz have over 20 years of teaching experience each, and together they have been running retreats in various locations for ten years. The yoga and Pilates combination has proved incredibly successful, influencing and deepening each practice.

The venue

TIGMI is no ordinary hotel. Meandering corridors and courtyard paths lead to authentically-furnished, comfortable rooms. You’ll enjoy secret terraces, charming gardens and a myriad of quiet corners in which to relax, read and recharge.

During your stay, Tigmi’s grounds are yours to explore and savour. Winding paths lined with banana palms and citrus trees lead you around the beautiful gardens. Roses, hibiscus and bougainvillea bring a delicate aroma and add bursts of colour to Tigmi’s garden walls. Bask in the sun, or seek out the shade. You’ll find both in abundance.

The terrace offers stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and is home to the first of Tigmi’s two pools – perfect for cooling off with a quick dip, or stretching your legs with a relaxing swim. In a shady, secluded garden, you’ll find the second pool. Solar heated all year to 26 degrees and surrounded by comfortable divans.

Each rooms has its own fire place which can be lit upon request.

The schedule

From Saturday to Saturday: Arrival day is Saturday 19 October 2024.  A morning meditation and Yoga practice led by Bea; we have two groups, depending on the experience of students. Late afternoon Pilates session led by Liz in beginners and intermediate groups. Our practice space, a covered roof terrace, has stunning views of Marrakesh across the plains. 

Extras during the week: Stretch class on day of arrival for early arrivers, meditation special and Yoga Nidra! All optional, but all-inclusive!

Wednesday will be a day off to have ample time to explore. Please note, we do offer an optional late morning workshop run by both Liz and Bea on this day. If you are not leaving early for one of Tigmi's excursions, we hope you will join us.

Departure day is Saturday 26.10.24. Breakfast will be served in the morning.

Our philosophy

We feel strongly about providing individual attention to enable people to feel their practice has grown with their week of work. We believe in the power and beauty of each practice and interweaving the philosophy and principles of yoga, meditation and Pilates to inform and heighten each practice.

For the majority of the yoga classes (except the first) and for all the Pilates classes, we divide the groups into two groups (slower paced and faster paced).  We try to do this in even numbers, but sometimes one group may be slightly larger than the other.

Extra attention is provided in the slower classes; both Bea and Liz assist each other so hands on corrections, adjustments and modifications that are needed are easily attended to by having two teachers at hand. We have always had people highlight this as one of the strengths of our retreats.

The food

The retreat includes 3 meals a day:

A breakfast of delicious home-made juices, honey, yogurts, pancakes, cheeses, locally made breads, fresh fruit and cereals will be served after class. There will be an ample and varied salad buffet lunch. The evening meals are traditionally North African dishes. Should you be vegetarian or vegan, the chef also prepares delicious meal options on request. Special dietary requirements (allergies, intolerances) can be catered for, but please notify us on the booking form! 

The exploring

The afternoon can be spent basking by the pools, or book a hamman or treatment in the TIGMI SPA.  If you are feeling more energetic, take the free shuttle to visit one of the souks in Marrakesh or go on one of the many interesting walks of varying distances that can be taken in every direction from TIGMI.
Many other excursions can be arranged for you. TIGMI has an 'excursions menu' at reception, please ask!

The prices

Please note, prices are in pounds in 2024

If you are paying with UK sterling, then you will transfer payment to Liz's UK account. If you are paying in Euros, you will transfer payment to Bea's German account. We will ask, that you use the daily exchange rate on the day you transfer. Bank details will be on the invoice.

Please note: the standard rooms are spacious, and the doubles can be made up as a twin.

Suites: 

There is a limited amount of suites available, they are either extra spacious, have fantastic views or afford more privacy with own little terrace or courtyard. If you are interested in a suite, please let us know, and we will endeavour to find just the perfect one for you.

Suite supplements per week:

Single: £235

Double p.p.: £145 

If you wish to stay for longer, Tigmi may be able to accommodate you. Please let us know as soon as possible, because the teacher before and after our retreat has priority in their weeks.  You will be given a special rate not advertised to public, if you are part of our retreat. 

Once Tigmi confirms your request, we will let you know immediately and you can pay the extra nights on site directly to the hotel.  The extra night rate includes breakfast and dinner (half board). 

You can also stay in one of the many beautiful Riads in Marrakesh. 

If you have time, arriving a day early can save on ticket fares and give you an extra day to soak up the rays :)

Not included: Flights, insurance and the airport transfer to and from the hotel which will be an added cost of 25 Euros each way, this will be put on your bill at the end, it doesn't matter if you are on your own or in a group. 

 

Travel info

From UK: EasyJet, BA, Ryanair have direct flights from London. If you can travel a day or two early, you will save £

From Berlin: Ryan Air direct flights on Fridays, Wednesdays and Mondays. Austrian Airlines via Vienna, check KLM and Lufthansa too. If you come from Berlin and want to fly direct and there is no other option, you can book the 7 night package from Friday to Friday, 

The cost of any airline ticket is the responsibility of the participant.

You must take out your own travel insurance.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation of your holiday/retreat, for whatever reason, must be notified to Bea and Liz in writing by letter or email. Whilst we will endeavour to treat cancellations sympathetically spaces are limited, and the following applies:

Deposits are non refundable. For cancellations made up to one month prior to departure monies received other than the deposit will be refunded. Cancellations less than one month in advance of the retreat no refund can be offered.

Should there be a waitlist and your cancellation can be replaced, we are happy to refund your payment in full minus a 30 pounds admin charge. 

In case of an emergency where Liz or Bea can not travel, either Liz or Bea will take both the Yoga and Pilates classes, or we will assign a senior teacher in her place. This is highly unlikely.

The cost of any airline ticket is the responsibility of the participant.
